Bartender/Server Courtyard by Marriott / Springhill Suites by Marriott Amelia Island 2700 Atlantic Avenue, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034 Overview This is a tipped position with exponential opportunity! We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bartender to join our team at our Tides Pool Bar and Grill and our Bistro Bar. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mixology and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for crafting beverages, engaging with patrons, and ensuring a memorable experience for all guests. Your knowledge of the food and beverage industry will play a vital role in maintaining our high standards of service. Responsibilities Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and customer preferences. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including washing glassware and utensils. Engage with customers, providing recommendations and answering questions about drink options. Process transactions accurately using the POS system, ensuring proper handling of cash and credit card payments. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Collaborate with kitchen staff to support banquet services or special events as required. Adhere to all food handling regulations and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for both staff and patrons. Requirements Previous experience in bartending or relevant roles within the food industry is preferred. Strong knowledge of mixology, cocktail recipes, and beverage trends. Familiarity with retail math for accurate cash handling and inventory management. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers in various settings, including fine dining or nightclub environments. Basic math skills for processing orders and managing tabs effectively. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. A valid food handling certification is a plus but not mandatory upon hiring; training will be provided.
