JOB SUMMARY

Bartenders work directly with customers by mixing and serving drink orders. They have extensive knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits and products which they use to recommend drinks to members, prepare and create new cocktail recipes. A bartender has a variety of duties and responsibilities. They are responsible for the cleanliness and stock of the bar, ensuring there are clean glasses, plenty of garnishes prepared, back-ups of spirits, processing payments and that everything is tidy. Bartenders also must interact with members with conversations and excellent customer service, building relationships, while filling drink orders for other customers. Bartenders must be trusted with measuring the appropriate amounts of liquor for different recipes and service, making recommendations for customers, opening and maintaining tabs for members for the night or longer-term.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Greet members/guests cordially and efficiently. Prepare classic, nonalcoholic and house cocktails, for the bars and restaurants Clean glasses and bar tools Interact with members, take orders and serve snacks and drinks Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations Plan and present bar menu Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies Developing new cocktail recipes Performs opening and closing procedures including but not limited to the setup and break down of the bars Communicate effectively and courteously with members and co‐workers. Be primary support for servers and implementing service to standard. Manage the bar and work environment with compliance cleanliness standards. Notify direct manager when applicable to assist in monitoring and maintaining the inventory of supplies. Participate in teamwork and assist other departments when needed. Check the quality of the final servings and resolve any issues. Work diligently to achieve outstanding service quality. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager. Adheres to proper alcohol handling, sanitation, and safety procedures, and maintains appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all beverage items. Coordinates daily supply inventory for bar and submits orders to supervisor; assists with receipt of deliveries. Completes cleanings according to daily and weekly schedules. Prepares and maintains ingredients by following recipes. Ensures smooth operation of bar services during absence of manager. Assists with orienting new employees to their work area. Listens to customer complaints and suggestions and resolves complaints. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations Knowledge of mixology for classic and creative cocktails, garnishing, serving standards Maintain knowledge on beverage offerings. Ability to enforce company policies regarding alcohol consumption Accountability in maintaining inventory and processing payments Customer service and communications skills Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean Teamwork Handling multiple orders, multi‐tasking, and attending member’s needs in a timely manner. Physical ability to stand or walk for long periods of time

Able to lift and carry containers and equipment weighing 50 lbs. Able to reach various levels ranging from overhead to the floor. Able to work in environments with extreme temperatures. Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages. Certification and/or previous training in liquor, wine, and food service. Food handling certificate. Certification in C.P.R. is recommended. Patient and friendly with demonstrated experience in problem solving. Must be able to multitask and work in a face paced team environment. Thoroughness and professionalism. Must have flexible schedule and the ability to assist and support all functions under their direct supervision. Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends and public holidays Ability to work under pressure
