Bartender Bayes Oyster Bar 315 North Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA 70801 As a Bartender at Bayes Oyster Bar, you will be the face and personality behind our bar. You will be responsible for crafting and serving a wide range of beverages, from classic cocktails to signature creations, while providing engaging and attentive service to our guests. Your ability to create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere will be crucial to ensuring guest satisfaction and repeat business.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and guest preferences. Maintain a thorough knowledge of our menu, including cocktails, wine list, beer selections, and daily specials. Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders, answering questions, and offering recommendations. Assess guest needs and preferences and make appropriate drink suggestions. Practice responsible alcohol service and adhere to all legal and company policies regarding the sale of alcohol. Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including stocking liquor, beer, wine, and bar supplies. Prepare garnishes, restock ice, and ensure all necessary tools and equipment are readily available. Process guest payments accurately and efficiently using our POS system. Monitor guest consumption and intervene appropriately to prevent over-intoxication. Collaborate with servers and other team members to ensure smooth and efficient service throughout the restaurant. Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down the bar. Stay updated on new cocktail trends, techniques, and products. Report any issues or concerns to the bar manager or supervisor.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Bartender, preferably in a high-volume, upscale environment. Excellent knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, wine, beer, and other beverages. Strong customer service and communication skills with a friendly and outgoing personality. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Ability to handle cash and process payments accurately. Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices. Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 30 pounds for extended periods. Must be at least 21 years of age. A passion for hospitality and creating positive guest experiences.
