Job Description:
The Wakehouse Waterfront Bar and Grill is opening soon in Madisonville on the Tchefuncte River. We are currently seeking enthusiastic Servers and Bartenders to join our new team!
Server Responsibilities:
Greet customers, take food and beverage orders. Present menu options, answer questions, and make suggestions to guests as needed. Verify customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age requirements. Accurately input orders into a POS system. Communicate orders accurately to the kitchen and bar team, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g. food allergies). Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables rapidly and accurately. Check on guests for satisfaction, ensure they have everything they need. Keep the tables free of dirty dishes, empty glassware, debris, empty bottles, etc. Efficiently process guest payments and provide change in a courteous manner. Manage cash and paperwork accurately, maintaining attention to detail. Inform restaurant management about customers’ feedback or requests.
Bartender Responsibilities:
Greet customers, take food and beverage orders. Present menu options, answer questions, and make suggestions to guests as needed. Verify customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age requirements. Accurately input orders into a POS system. Complete drinks orders quickly and accurately. Check on guests for satisfaction, ensure they have everything they need. Efficiently process guest payments and provide change in a courteous manner. Manage cash and paperwork accurately, maintaining attention to detail. Slice fruit for garnishing drinks and maintain a visually appealing bar display. Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies to maintain a well-stocked and organized bar area. Occasionally serve as a barback, refilling machines, and cleaning the bar area. Inform restaurant management about customers’ feedback or requests.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in the restaurant industry is a plus but not required. Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules. The ability to stand, walk, and/or carry food trays for extended periods of time. The ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize tasks efficiently. Effective communication skills. Ability to remain calm, friendly, and professional in a fast-paced work environment. Must be at least 18 years of age (required for service of alcohol). Must have or be able to obtain a Louisiana RV Bar Card and have a clear background check.
