POSITION

 Bar Assistant

General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Bar Manager, Floor Manager, Head Bartender, Bartender PURPOSE:

Both Bar Prep employees are expected to take a proactive approach to their roles, ensuring the bar is always prepared for seamless operation. By maintaining accurate records, adhering to protocols, and communicating effectively, the Bar Prep team will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional guest experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands for this position includes standing and working for long periods of time and moving intermittently during work hours. The employee is required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, kneel, and reach above shoulder level. These physical demands described here must be met by the employee to perform the essential functions of the job.

Preparation:

Prepare garnishes daily, including slicing citrus fruits, skewering olives, washing herbs, and creating any specialty garnishes in line with current pars. Follow standardized procedures to ensure uniformity and quality of all garnishes.

Delivery and Setup:

Transport garnishes to each bar station, organizing them for efficient service. Retrieve garnish trays from each bar and fill to correspond with current layouts. Return garnish trays to each bar and distribute to necessary areas and wells. Monitor garnish containers throughout the shift and replenish as necessary, maintaining freshness and appeal. Batch and Syrup Preparation (As Needed): Assist with batching cocktails and syrups, ensuring all recipes are followed exactly and labeled with preparation dates and initials. Track batch and syrup inventory, noting when items need to be replenished or replaced. Bar Setup for

Service:

Check that all bar stations are stocked with garnishes, consumables, batched martinis, and batch items. Organize items for ease of use during service, ensuring a clutter-free environment.

Monitoring Pars:

Work with bartenders and the bar manager to establish and maintain pars for liquor, garnishes, glassware, and consumables. Update par levels based on seasonal changes, special events, or bar traffic patterns. Ensure all bar stations are fully stocked to meet the established pars before each shift. Reassess stock levels at the end of the shift to prepare for the following day.

Organization:

Distribute and organize the liquor and wine bottles

Health and Safety Compliance:

Follow all local and state regulations for food safety and alcohol handling. Practice proper glove use, handwashing, and sanitization techniques at all times. Identify and address potential hazards in prep and bar areas. Report any safety concerns to the bar manager immediately. In addition to performing the key responsibilities listed above, this position is required to perform a combination of the following: Be a team player and support other roles during service Share input and feedback to what can be improved in operations to the management team Additional duties as necessary and assigned Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment Upholds Department of Health Standards Upholds uniform guidelines and a polished appearance Consistently reports to scheduled shifts on time Provides attentiveness and excellence in service.
