Required Years of Experience 2 years Job Details The Bartender maintains all bar environment and equipment. The Bartender is responsible for ensuring the bar area is clean and tidy, assisting guests when they have questions about the menus/wine list/liquor and cocktails, taking guests orders, anticipating guests’ needs and addressing them accordingly. This position has an hourly rate of $16.50 + Tips.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Retrieve completed food and/or beverage orders from kitchen or bar; confirm accuracy of order and deliver to guests with appropriate condiments. When serving beverages, abide by all state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
- Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explains, if necessary, any specials and/or bar promotions
- Record the details of the order from guests, repeating as necessary, to check for accuracy.
- Prepare drinks in accordance with the guest’s order.
- In order to ensure the quality and consistency of beverages served to guests, bartenders may conduct straw taste tests for quality assurance purposes. Straw taste tests should be done sparingly and only, when necessary, with the minimal amount required for tasting.
- Responsible for mixing drinks, serving drinks, serving food, cleaning bar, setting up and breaking down the bar.
- Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
- Market and serve upon request any dessert or specialty item.
- Present the check to the guest when asked, collect and process payment.
- Handle, process and settle all cash payment and transactions from bar and lounge.
- Make sure that all silverware and glasses are wiped and spotless.
- Mark bar counter appropriately to food order for each course
- Enter all sales in POS correctly. Double check list of items before “sending.” Print a new check after each additional order is entered.
- Make sure that all products served are accounted for on the final bill before presenting it to guests.
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area at all times, ensure bar area is well stocked with supplies and beverages including: o Straighten bar area continuously; restock bar with clean glasses.
o Clean counters, floors, shelves, and refrigerators; remove trash. o Check coolers and shelves to ensure proper stocking of beer, wine, liquor, and all beverages; stock bar with ice as needed. o Check for supplies such as sugar, salt, stir sticks, straws, napkins as per specified inside work list. o Requisition of additional supplies as needed. o Cut fruit and garnishes; retrieve special garnishes from kitchen.
- Verify each guest satisfaction during each course or beverage served.
- Anticipate guest needs, as to where guests will never have to ask for anything.
- Occasionally retrieve items for guests as needed, such as cigars, cutters, and ashtrays, etc.
- Wish every guest a warm farewell and thank them for coming.
- At the end of the shift deliver all checks and reports to the appropriate place according to rules.

- Report all suspicious persons or activities and hazardous or unsafe conditions to management.
- Understand and follow the laws and guidelines for beverage service.
- Provide excellent service at all times to all of our guests, assist guests courteously and efficiently.
- Respond to all guest questions. Provide guest assistance, direction, and information as requested when working in public areas.
- Extensive knowledge of food and beverage in order to service and up sell our product, including liquors and cocktails.
- Assist Bar and Lobby Lounge cocktail server in lounge when necessary.
- Attend all food and beverage training classes.
- Following the posted opening and closing duties and side work sheet
- Attend daily pre meal/communication meeting.
- Attend monthly department meeting.
- Generate a good atmosphere.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years’ experience in a luxury hotel environment or similar restaurant or bar setting
- Must have open availability and be able to work holidays & weekends
- Positive, engaging, and energetic personality
- Able to be organized, manage time wisely and work with little to no direct supervision.
- Very high attention to detail
- Sensitive to cultural nuances
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal on English
- Able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, fast paced environment.
- Excellent people skills and the ability to work under pressure and with various stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance as per company policies.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to carry, push, and pull heavy loads up to 50 lbs; standing, bending and lifting will be required.
- Must be comfortable with exposure to the elements, as some duties may require outdoor work or exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Multi-lingual is a plus.
