Seasonal Cook Bartender Anchor Inn and Marina 3425 County Road 30, Watkins Glen, NY 14891 Overview We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Cook/Bartender to join our dynamic team. This position plays a crucial role in providing exceptional service to our guests, crafting delicious food and beverages, and creating a welcoming atmosphere. Your expertise in hospitality and customer service will enhance the dining experience, ensuring that every patron leaves satisfied and eager to return. Duties Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and customer preferences. Prepare a variety of sandwich and fried food options Maintain a clean and organized bar/kitchen area, including washing glassware, cleaning countertops, and disposing of waste. Engage with customers in a friendly manner, taking food and drink orders, providing recommendations, and ensuring their needs are met. Operate cash registers and POS systems efficiently for processing payments. Monitor inventory levels of food, liquor, mixers, and supplies. Adhere to all health and safety regulations while serving food and beverages. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods. Participate in catering events as required, showcasing your skills in food service. Skills Experience cooking and bartending or a related hospitality role is preferred. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage effectively with guests. Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately. Familiarity with cash registers and POS systems for efficient order processing. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. This position will be a combination spot and could look like a couple shifts a week as a cook and a couple shifts as a bartender or on slower days it could be a mostly bartending position and making food orders as needed throughout the day. We are looking for someone willing to go the extra mile and do what needs to be done while maintaining customer satisfaction. If bartending only, the wage would be $10.35 an hour plus tips. In the kitchen the hourly rate is based on experience. If a combo shift typically you are paid $15.50 plus tips. This is an outdoor bar, so extreme temperatures are possible. Dress for the weather, but professionally. Willing to train the right individual. This is a seasonal position through at least Labor Day, possibly until the end of September if the weather holds.
