In addition to our in-house offerings, we also have a growing wholesale division that provides custom cocktail menus and training to our customers.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Bar Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of mixology, a passion for creating exceptional cocktails, and the ability to lead and inspire our bar staff. This role will involve working the day-to-day operations of the bar, developing seasonal cocktail menus, and collaborating with our wholesale and marketing division to create and perfect cocktail recipes for our in-house customers and our wholesale partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day operations of bar units, ensuring consistent service and quality. Train and work alongside bar staff. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for bar operations. Manage inventory, recommend orders, and stocking of bar supplies and beverages. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Develop and update seasonal cocktail menus, incorporating innovative and trendy drinks using locally sourced products. Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally. Collaborate with marketing and promotions teams to drive sales and customer engagement. Engage with social media platforms to promote the bar, share updates, and interact with customers. Foster a positive work environment and drive the Big Spring Spirits culture. Ensure drawers and reports are completed daily and financial data is accurate. Work with management to understand scheduling needs. Provide support to staff as needed, including guest engagement, greeting, running food or drinks, and hosting events. Additional responsibilities as assigned to ensure the success of the business. Bar Lead/ Mixologist Goals 1.
Staff Training and Development:
Work with management to develop a comprehensive training program for new hires, covering all aspects of bar operations, customer service, and company policies. Conduct regular training sessions to improve staff skills and knowledge. Ensure RAMP and PLCB compliance throughout the building at all times PLCB compliance including vigilance for visibly intoxicated persons and persons not of legal drinking age 2.
Operational Efficiency:
Streamline inventory management processes to reduce waste and optimize ordering. Implement and monitor adherence to SOPs to ensure consistency and quality across all units. Ensure all employees are adhering to training requirements. Conduct regular audits to identify and address operational inefficiencies. 3.
Customer Satisfaction:
Resolve customer complaints as they arise and ensure guest satisfaction. Introduce new and innovative drink offerings to attract and retain customers. Work with the Back of House (BoH) to launch and ensure features are received by guests. 4.
Financial Performance:
Actively engage with growth and target areas for financial savings. Maintain beverage costs at or below the target percentage of total sales. Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality. 5.
Seasonal Cocktail Menu Development:
Create and launch new seasonal cocktail menus quarterly to keep offerings fresh and exciting. Incorporate customer feedback and market trends into menu development. Collaborate with bartenders to experiment with new ingredients and techniques. 6.
Team Collaboration:
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and open communication. Organize team sales goals and events to boost morale and engagement. Assist with special events and promotions as needed
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a bartender or bar manager in a high-volume, fast-paced environment Extensive knowledge of mixology, spirits, and cocktail trends Strong leadership and team leadership skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays Creative and detail-oriented with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences Familiarity with inventory management and cost control Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams Obtaining and maintaining RAMP training
