Outside Operations, Practice Range and Bag Drop Attendants Education and/or Experience High school diploma or GED required. Requires basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office. 3-5 Years Experience in a similar role. Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations Knowledge and understanding of typical golf course procedures and operations. Can successfully work in all positions within outside golf operations. Extremely friendly, enthusiastic and personable toward members and co-workers. A role model who commands the respect of their team and leads by example. Service minded and willing to take extra steps to enhance the member experience. Able to effectively manage a team of high performing, service-oriented individuals. Willing to assist in other areas and duties outside of the typical scope to accomplish the club’s goals. Responsible for maintaining an organized, clean, safe working environment. Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations. Job Summary (Essential Functions) Oversees and coordinates the work of all those involved in outside operations including the practice range, short game area, bag drop, cart building, bag storage, starter in absence of starter. Monitors and maintains golf carts, equipment, and golf car use. Job Tasks/Duties Manages cart building, cart fleet, cart staging, bag storage, bag drop, club cleaning, practice range, short game area. Hires and trains outside service employees and holds them accountable in their assigned duties. Creates and manages a schedule that meets service expectations while following budget demands. Serves as the outside services concierge greeting people and assuring, they are being taken care of. Ensures that members and guests have an enjoyable day at the club when they visit. Communicates with the Golf Pro Shop staff for any needs required by members and guests. Oversees the quality of work with club cleaning, carts, practice balls and all facilities and surrounds. Assures golf cart proper appearance, cleanliness and properly stocked with tees, scorecards, pencils, towels, seed bottles and ice. Pulls out and parks carts in order of tee-time daily. Maintains proper golf car repair records and is responsible for orchestrating cart repairs when needed. Maintains utility carts including range picker. Daily practice range and short game area set up according to Standard Operating Procedures. Maintains golf ball levels during the day for the practice areas and performs ball collection as needed (aqua range). Clubs kept clean before storing. Towel laundering. Assists in maintaining bag number control for storage areas. Alerts the Golf Professionals when members add or remove bags from club storage. Reports any damaged, broken or misused equipment to the Golf Professionals as soon as possible; records the damage and by whom. Inspects employees’ uniforms to ensure that they are attired properly for the season and are presentable to members and their guests. Trains staff to recognize members not dressed properly for the use of course and practice area and relays the information to the Golf Pro Shop staff. Works with Golf Professionals and attends weekly meetings to prepare for regular play and events. Assures that outside operations team is knowledgeable about the events, rules, and restrictions daily. Is alert to the weather or approaching inclement weather. Assists as starter and ranger when asked. Licenses and Special Requirements Valid driver’s license. Physical Demands and Work Environment Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Able to meet and perform physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position. Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling. Lifting to 50 pounds, 2 golf bag, range ball baskets (300 balls). Continuous standing and walking.
