BELLMAN FOR SOUTH BEACH HOTEL OVERVIEW
Currently looking for the newest member of our team! Seeking Bellman for exceptionally busy and South Beach hotel. Join our supportive, team-based environment. Shifts vary but typically follow AM or PM schedule. Shifts vary by week. You must be flexible, be able to work any shift, any day, weekends and holidays included. This is a full-time job. Please be outgoing and have excellent customer service. You must speak both English AND Spanish. You must be able to lift heavy luggage (50-60 pounds).

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
BELLMAN The Bellman position is very important to the overall business at our hotel. It is a liaison between all the departments at the hotel and the guests. The Bellman must be prepared to be highly guest service-oriented. This position requires excellent public relations skills. The guest may formulate his opinion of the hotel on his interactions with just a single employee. That employee could very well be the Bellman. Because the Bellman is very visible and representative of the hotel, it is very important that he/she looks clean and well-groomed. The Bellman must be patient and courteous with the guests. Under no circumstance will he/she be rude or engage in any argumentative or bad behavior with the guest.

Responsibilities:
To assist guests with luggage, escort, and orient guests to their rooms. The Bellman must be visible at the front door to ensure that guests will be assisted during the check-in or check-out process, He should maintain a positive attitude always, smile at approaching the guest and address the guest in a courteous manner. The Bellman is never to ask, wait, or indicate that a tip is expected from the guest. If the guest offers a gratuity, accept it graciously. Thank the guest for it and place the gratuity immediately into your pocket without counting it. To support the front desk and other departments in achieving proper guest service. To constantly monitor the condition of the lobby and ensure there is no visible trash, debris or clutter. Check the glass front door for cleanliness. Take care of spills and trash immediately and remove unused equipment or easels from the lobby as needed. Monitor furniture for neatness. Notify the front desk of any major task that needs to be taken by Housekeeping or Engineering. Perform basic repairs for guests and public area when the maintenance person is not available. Maintain control of the driveway so there is normally space available for an additional car to enter by keeping cars moved forward. Do not allow long term parking. The parking lot at 18th

Inventory on each shift shall be taken in the log, noting any vehicle without a proper permit. Report this verbally and in writing to the Front Desk. The Bellman also rotates through Parking Attendant responsibilities Security Responsibilities When handling guest baggage and personal effects, Bellman assumes full responsibility for the items. Must watch over them very carefully or return items to guests for them to take responsibility. Luggage being held must be “locked.” When storing luggage, mark the baggage tickets each with the number of pieces received from the guest and make sure the same number of items match when they pick up the luggage. Check that side doors facing the north alley are properly closed always. Also, check that the meeting room doors are properly locked. Bellman will walk all the hallways at least once per shift making sure all room doors are closed and latched. The Bellman working the evening shift should walk around 10 PM to the pool area and beyond all the way to the beach to check everything is in order, lock up the pool bathrooms, pick up used towels and take them down to the laundry. Remove trash, straighten all chairs and lounges. Any unusual situation must be reported immediately to the Front Desk.
