$20.00 per hour Summary The IPH Clothing Pantry, located within Community Connections, offers a chance for guests and community members to select clothing, hygiene products, and small household items in a supportive environment that promotes dignity for those in need. Principal Responsibilities, Accountabilities, & Duties The Clothing Pantry Attendant is responsible for oversight and operation of the Clothing Pantry through the following functions, as well as other assigned activities: Guest Support Actively contribute to an emotionally and physically welcoming, safe, and supportive environment Engage guests using active listening, empathy, and patience Provide information about clothing pantry services as well as other services offered within Community Connections and across IPH programs. Assist guests with locating desired items Refer guests to the Community Connections Case Manager or Guest Support Specialist, as appropriate Maintain strict confidentiality in all areas: written, spoken, and observed communication Volunteer Coordination and Support Provide orientation and onboarding to new volunteers Manage the scheduling of volunteers and ensure proper coverage Provide ongoing support, supervision, and training to volunteers Ensure staff have any required or desired personal protective equipment (i.e, masks, gloves, etc.) Donation Processing As the primary contact for clothing donations, field calls, questions, and direct donors, appropriately Submit and receive clothing pantry referrals through the Uniteus service coordination platform. Ensure efficient processing (scheduling, receiving, sorting, cleaning/drying, organizing) of donations Ensure the sorting room is maintained in a clean and organized manner and stocked with necessary supplies (gloves, masks, etc) Coordinate the removal or donation of unwanted/unneeded items Pantry Oversight Ensure that the pantry is maintained in a clean and sanitary manner Ensure that the pantry is well-stocked with the most frequently needed items Ensure that the clothing pantry is well-maintained and organized. Ensure the clothing pantry items and services are accessible to all. Ensure that guest capacity is maintained within prescribed limits Keep track of the clothing pantry sign-in sheet and ensure all guests have signed in and items are accounted for. Maintain open communication with the Community Connections Program Manager, reporting supplies needed, addressing guest concerns and needs, and coordinating volunteer group schedules and activities. Documentation Maintain up-to-date documentation of all services provided. Enter data into the Homeless Management Information System, including intakes, contact logs, milestones, and discharges. Ensure incident reports and other related documentation are completed by the end of the shift. Professional Development Participate in an agency committee to help contribute to the efficient operation of the agency, provide recommendations, and coordinate efforts across programs. Participate in Staff Trainings, including First Aid, CPR, and Naloxone (Narcan) Participate in regular supervision meetings with the Community Connections Program Manager and scheduled staff meetings Physical Requirements Work involves frequent lifting/carrying/stacking of large/bulky items Work involves stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning, and reaching; bending at the waist
