Nestled in Franklin County in northwest Alabama, the city of Russellville boasts tree-lined streets, charming homes, and a welcoming small-town atmosphere Summary We are seeking a Food Service Worker to join our team at Russellville Hospital. In this role, you will be responsible for maintenance and sanitation of the Food Service Department according to established departmental standards. Responsibilities Responsible for quality and sanitary care of kitchen and dining room tile floors, store rooms, walk-in cooler, freezer and dish area; sweeps and mops floors; sanitizes walls and dish equipment. Responsible for keeping all storage and paper goods in order and put up all stock and keeping stock rotated in accordance with storeroom procedures for handling individualized items. Responsible for emptying trash and cleaning cans each time. Uses correct cleaning chemicals and adheres to policy and procedure for sanitation of pots and pans. Takes and picks up meal cart with trays to patient service areas. Assists in dish room as assigned, demonstrating proper use and care of dish machine and garbage disposal. Responsible for proper handling, storage, washing and transporting of all kitchen utensils, pots, pans and dishes. Cleans dish machine and prepares for next meal. Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Department Director. Interacts with patients with considerations to cultural diversity, age of the patient population served and mental and physical ability of the patient population. Responsible for reporting occurrences of medical/healthcare errors and actions taken to improve patient safety, both in response to actual occurrences and proactive findings, as outlined in the Patient Safety Plan. Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Department Director Attends all Department Meetings Uses appropriate etiquette when receiving, placing, and transferring phone calls. Listens well, which demonstrates a positive attitude. Addresses patient’s, visitors, co-workers, and physicians in a pleasant and respectful manner, displays courteous behavior at all times.
