We are currently hiring for a Banquet Captain , a key leadership position at the forefront of our event operations. This role offers the opportunity to directly shape guest experiences by leading high-impact events and ensuring every detail-from service flow to team coordination-is executed with precision and excellence.

Position Summary:

The Banquet Captain is responsible for managing the setup, service, and breakdown of banquet functions while leading and supporting the banquet staff. This role ensures seamless event execution, outstanding guest service, and adherence to established service standards.

Essential Responsibilities:

Supervise banquet staff during all phases of event service, including setup, execution, and cleanup. Oversee guest satisfaction by ensuring all service aspects meet quality and hospitality standards. Coordinate liquor inventory and distribution to bartenders during events. Present banquet checks to event clients and process payments accurately. Manage staffing assignments for banquet functions according to event needs. Handle cash management for cash bars during events. Attend relevant meetings such as Banquet Event Order (BEO) reviews and pre-convention meetings. Order supplies and linens from Purchasing and Housekeeping departments as needed. Post and distribute event orders to the banquet team. Assist servers and bartenders as needed to ensure smooth and timely service.

Qualifications:

Minimum of two years of experience as a banquet captain or in a supervisory food and beverage role. Strong working knowledge of banquet event operations, table settings, and hospitality service standards. Ability to read and interpret event orders and communicate effectively with team members and guests. Proficiency in basic mathematics and cash handling. Ability to lift and transport up to 40 pounds. Capable of operating food and beverage equipment used in banquet service. Must possess leadership qualities and the ability to manage and motivate a team.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Indoor work environment with some exposure to temperature changes. Frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting, and handling of banquet equipment. Must be able to remain on feet for extended periods and manage physical tasks as needed. Must be flexible to work a variable schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business demands.
