Position Summary
Under general direction, prepares and cooks salads, meats, vegetables, and desserts for consumption in the college dining hall; serves food and beverages; and performs general cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen, dining hall and concessions.
Salary:
Appropriate placement on the Alabama Community College System Salary Schedule H35, Rank 16 ($13.89 – $18.14 per hour)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following: Clean food trays; dispose of food items; usemercial dish washing machine to wash dishes.
Prepare food according to prescribed menus to ensure nutritious and tasteful meals.
Assist with preparing food and operating the concessions for college athletic events when needed.
Measure and mix ingredients according to recipe, using a variety of utensils and equipment.
Set up serving line in order that food looks attractive and appealing. Run cashier station as necessary and have the ability to accurately take money and make change.
Maintain kitchen and dining area by cleaning and sanitizing as directed.
Wash, sanitize, and store dishes, utensils, trays, glasses, pots and pans.
Clean stoves, deep fryers, and coolers.
Stock shelves, cooler, and freezer.
Assist other food services employees as needed.
Assist with banquets and other special events. Maintain professional conduct in dealing with students, staff, administration, faculty and the collegemunity.
Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience as a line or grill cook in a food establishment is preferred.
