Job Description

Breakfast Attendant (part of Hilton) 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars Shelton, CT 06484 The Breakfast Attendants responsible primarily for setting up, maintaining and breaking down the breakfast buffet and for maintaining the breakfast dining area. The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for making guests feel welcome, comfortable and well attended to at all times, some serving of guests, e.g., pouring coffee, clearing tables, cleaning of dining and buffet area and maintaining storage and breakfast supply inventories.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • ServSafe Certificate or other appropriate alcohol related service training preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Customer Service experience preferred
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT
  • Carpet sweeper or vacuum, hot plates, coffee and espresso machines, juice machine, trays, bus tubs, dishes

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Medium work
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects

  • Ability to work long hours, some back to back shifts as needed

ESSENTIAL
  • Approach all encounters with gApproach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner
  • Maintain regular attendance, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, as defined in the hotel handbook, when working
  • Comply at all times with New Castle standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware.
  • Complete all sidework and cleaning duties as described in the SOP’s.
  • Have full knowledge of entire menu, as well as daily specials, desserts, etc
  • Present menus to guests and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request
  • Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems
  • Serve food or beverages to patrons, and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required
  • Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to kitchen for cleaning
  • Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner
  • Participate in department meetings
  • Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring his or her attention
  • Insure compliance with all local liquor laws, and health & sanitation regulations
  • Insure compliance with departmental S.O.P.s
  • Insure that all side work is completed before leaving property
  • Be up to date on all guest services, promotions and events in the Hotel
MARGINAL
  • Other duties as required
  • Meet and greet guests
  • Knowledge of F&B procedures and serving standards
  • Health Department rules and regulations
  • Participate in hotel and department meetings as requested
