Assure a high standard of appearance, hospitality, service in team members, and cleanliness of service areas. Ensures timeliness of food service. Ensures satisfaction and oversees club events. Supervise and train service team member. Manage within budgetary restraints. Develop and implement programs to increase revenues through repeat business and higher check averages. Monitor inventory levels. Education and/or Experience High School Diploma or GED Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field preferred Two years or more of bartending experience Two years of dining room supervisory experience, plus if in a private Club Responsibilities Designs floor plans according to reservations. Plans dining room set-up based on anticipated member counts and guests needs. Trains team member on all aspects of the POS system Inspects team members to ensure that they are always in proper and clean uniforms. Trains, supervises, and evaluates service team member. Supervises and directs a la carte team members during all phases of service. Supervises and directs banquet team members during all phases of an event when needed. Maintains bar product and supplies inventory system for alcoholic beverages including wines, non-alcoholic beverages and mixers, glassware, paper goods, and other bar supplies. Plans promotional strategies and materials; develops recipes to improve the beverage program for members and guests. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of bar areas, glassware, and equipment through regular inspections. Develops standard operating procedures to help assure that bars and service areas are set-up and operated efficiently. Maintains an adequate supply of liquors, wines, beer, and other beverages with effective inventory management systems. Maintains and keeps current service and beverage-related training manuals. Assures that all laws applicable to beverage operations are consistently followed. Works with the Food & Beverage Director, Catering Director, and others to ensure efficient service in all the Club’s outlets and for special functions. Interacts with Purchasing Departments relative to the procurement and receiving of beverage products and supplies. Works with the Food & Beverage Director and others to help develop wine lists and beverage promotions. Inspects to ensure that the Club’s sanitation, safety, energy management, preventative maintenance, and other programs are implanted and complied with as they apply to service operation. Confirms time, attendance, and hours worked for temporary team members prior to submitting it to staffing companies. Handles complaints from Club members, guests, and other relative to the food and beverage department. Produces shift reports containing information on member-related issues, cover counts, and any other concerns occurring during that period. Assists with private parties and service in food and beverage outlets, when necessary. Plans and develops training programs and professional development opportunities for himself/ herself and all other service team members. Keeps current with changing member preferences and industry trends relative to the food and beverage operation. Conducts scheduled meetings with service team members. Attends scheduled management meetings. Monitor’s bar closing procedures (checklist) and assures that area is secure. May serve as bartender and/or server, if needed Skills Assures a high standard of appearance, hospitality, and service. Knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits. Knowledgeable of all aspects of department and daily Club operation, including scheduled events and operating hours. Meet revenue and expense budget goals and manage within budgetary restraints. Supervise front of the house team members and develop and implement programs to increase revenues and job performance. Always acts ethically and honestly. Assures that all state, local laws, and Club policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
