JOB SUMMARY
: The Room Service Attendant is responsible for taking orders for food and beverages and delivering them to guest rooms, ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction to all guests.
The Room Service Attendant may also be responsible for preparing trays, setting up tables, and clearing dishes after guests are finished.. At all times the Room Service Attendant must wear a spotless uniform, proper grooming and all long hair must be worn off the face. Every effort should be directed toward the guests’ satisfaction and comfort. The Room Service Attendant must be a quick learner and mentally retain location of the resort rooms to give guests a realistic timeframe for delivery of food items.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
: Receive orders over the phone or in person and inquire as to any special instructions including dietary restrictions the guests may have. The Room Service Attendant maintains an adequate stock of room service supplies. The Room Service Attendant must be able to communicate clearly with the guests, the kitchen staff, the Front Desk, and other resort staff. Room Service Attendant must be fully dressed in appropriate uniform before shift begins. Must know and fully understand the menu. Before the start of each meal period become knowledgeable of any specials. This would include ingredients and how entree is prepared. Deliver and Serve all food & beverage orders promptly. Examine the order before leaving the kitchen. Be certain all guests’ special instructions have been fulfilled. Make sure all eating utensils needed are in place or remove items if they will not be used. To prevent serious accidents, keep traffic areas clear of obstacles, pick up all cafe debris and wipe up all spills immediately. Check your shoes to ensure you are not tracking into the Cafe, any kitchen debris or grease.
Florida Health Code:
All employees must wash their hands thoroughly after using rest room, and follow all food safety guidelines. Maintain cooperative team like attitude in working with the manager, supervisors and fellow team members, both within the department and other resort departments.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to work flexible shifts and days. Overtime work as required. Must be able to read, write and communicate in the English language. Must be courteous and socially appropriate at all times. Must be able to reach, stoop, bend and kneel. Must be able to hear conversation at normal levels. Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must have knowledge of all menu items and be able to explain the preparation and ingredients of each entree. Must be able to recognize shortages in stock and supplies and to restock those items as required. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 25 lbs. Must be aware of time involved in preparing and delivering a meal within the time frame established by management. Must be multi tasked. Must be able to work in small areas that may be confined and/or crowded. Must have good verbal communication skills.
