The Assistant General Manager (AGM) of Bayside Cafe plays a pivotal support role in the daily operations of this beloved waterfront dining destination. Working closely with the General Manager, the AGM helps lead a passionate team to deliver exceptional guest experiences in a relaxed coastal setting. This position is perfect for a hands-on leader with a dedication to hospitality, operational excellence, and team development. The AGM will assist in overseeing service quality, staff performance, and overall restaurant success while maintaining the charm that defines Sandestin’s Bayside Cafe with a stunning view of the Bay. Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Support:
o Assist in recruiting, training, and mentoring staff to maintain the highest standards of guest service.
o Lead by example to foster a positive, teamwork-driven environment.
o Support staff scheduling, payroll processing, and regular performance feedback.
Operational Excellence:
o Oversee daily floor operations, ensuring smooth service flow and attention to detail.
o Support inventory management andpliance with health and safety regulations.
o Collaborate with culinary and service teams to uphold quality, presentation, and timeliness of food and beverages.
o Step in to resolve guest concerns promptly, ensuring satisfaction.
Financial & Administrative Support:
o Assist with monitoring financial performance, helping to control costs and maximize profitability.
o Support budgeting processes, vendor management, and supply ordering.
o track and report on operational metrics and assist in planning for continuous improvement.
Guest Experience Focus:
o Engage with guests to ensure memorable dining experiences.
o Maintain a strong presence on the floor to support staff and address guest needs.
o Contribute ideas for promotions, events, and menu enhancements to attract new and returning guests. Qualifications
- Previous experience in restaurant management or supervisory role preferred.
- Strong leadership andmunication skills.
- Passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding guest experiences.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- ServSafe certification or equivalent is a plus.
Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move around the restaurant and marina for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, including exposure to natural elements such as sun, rain, and wind.
Frequent bending, reaching, and climbing stairs.
Work outside in the natural elements.
Able to work in full sun for extended periods of time.
