- Statesboro, GA Department Information Dining Commons Job Summary The Student Assistant will support the Dining Commons as a Student Bakery Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2025.
The Student Bakery Assistant supports the bakery team in preparing, packaging, and presenting baked goods while ensuring a clean and organized workspace. This role involves assisting with basic food preparation, maintaining sanitation standards, and contributing to a positive customer experience. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period. Responsibilities
Assist bakers with measuring, mixing, and preparing ingredients
Help portion, shape, and tray baked goods for baking or display
Package and label bakery items for sale or distribution
Maintain a clean work environment by wiping down equipment and surfaces
Restock baking supplies and monitor inventory levels
Ensure all products meet presentation and quality standards
Assist with dishwashing and cleaning bakery tools and equipment
Follow all university food safety and sanitation procedures
Maintain a friendly, efficient attitude in a fast-paced setting
Perform other duties as assigned by bakery supervisors Shift Specifics Minimum 15 hours, up to 25 hours per week

Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University
Preferred Qualifications Preferred Experience Previous experience in food service, baking, or customer service
Interest in baking and a willingness to learn about food preparation
Proposed Salary $10.
