• Statesboro, GA Department Information Lakeside Cafe Job Summary The Student Assistant will support the Lakeside Cafe as a Student Bakery Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2025.

The Student Bakery Assistant supports the bakery team in preparing, packaging, and presenting baked goods while ensuring a clean and organized workspace. This role involves assisting with basic food preparation, maintaining sanitation standards, and contributing to a positive customer experience. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period. Responsibilities
Assist bakers with measuring, mixing, and preparing ingredients
Portion, shape, and tray baked goods for baking or display
Package and label items for sale or distribution
Wipe down workstations, sanitize surfaces, and clean equipment
Restock supplies and monitor ingredient inventory
Ensure all items meet university quality and presentation standards
Support dishwashing and sanitation of bakery tools and equipment
Maintain a friendly, efficient attitude in a fast-paced setting
Follow university food safety and sanitation protocols Shift Specifics Minimum 15 hours per week, up to 25 hours

  Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University
  Preferred Qualifications Preferred Experience Previous experience in food service, baking, or customer service
  Interest in baking and learning food preparation skills
  Proposed Salary $10.
