Preferred Qualifications Position Summary At the Georgia Center, the Banquet Captain assists the banquet teamto create the optimal atmosphere for large events and meetings. Theincumbent is responsible for event set-up, running events, helpingdirect banquet staff, along with maintenance; and the breakdown ofmeeting and banquet rooms according to department standards.

Handling cash/credit cards may be required at times. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Thorough knowledge of the material methods and equipment usedin setting large scale events. Help set up workstations with all needed supplies andequipment. Assist with menu development, specify product standards,control and maintain food inventories, adhere to recipes, andensure smooth and safe operations. Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment. Set up and prepare dining areas in accordance with productionschedules. Exercise good decision-making and proactively make changes asneeded. Work long hours while standing and under conditions of hightemperatures. Communicate effectively and follow direction fromsupervisor. Physical Demands Move loads up to 50 lbs., unloading and stockingproducts. Perform push/pull activity with products weighing up to 30lbs. Perform duties with repetitive motion of wrists, arm, andshoulder; hand and finger coordination. Reach, climb, balance, crouch, twist, crawl, andkneel.
