JOB PURPOSE OR MISSION
The Nutritional Care Ambassador is responsible for communications between nursing units and the Nutritional Care Department regarding patient menus, Clinical Nutrition Service, diet changes and general nutritional care service. The Nutritional Care Ambassador develops menu tallies for food production, NPO patients, supplements, nourishments and nutritional care floor supplies. Performs duties for the age population served, as defined in the company Plan of Care.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
include, but are not limited to: 1. Assists patients in completing menus.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Visits all assigned patients for menu selection, and offers accepted alternate food selections requested. Reviews patients’ kardex files, and records diet change to assure efficient timing of service. Completes patient menu selection assignment within designated time frame. Compiles menu information for use by kitchen personnel in food preparation. Notifies Clinical Nutritionist of any patient concerns. 2. Monitors and delivers nourishments to assigned nursing unit.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Prepares nourishment orders and restocks as needed. Assures that stock level of nourishments is maintained at adequate levels at all times. Ensures that nourishments are labeled and reflects expiration date. Monitors and records temperature on nourishment refrigerators on assigned nursing units.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Previous food service experience preferred.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable safety practices appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to: Incident reporting, handling of wastes, sharps and linen, PPE, exposure control plans, hand washing, environment of care, and patient identification.
General Summary :
The main objective of the Ambassador role is to deliver meals, assist in patient menu selection and cater to patients need in a timely fashion. In addition, the Ambassador acts as the representative of the Food and Nutrition Services. Principal Duties and Responsibilities – Essential Functions 1. Meal Time Preparation Prepares all cold/hot items and condiments for meal times according to quantities as written on the “Daily Production List.” Focuses on presentation of patient trays including meal accuracy, meal temperature and to ensure timely tray delivery. Responsible for patient satisfaction during the shift for the assigned floors. 2. Patient Menu selection Deliver and collect patient menus in a timely manner. Maintains hot food hot and cold food cold during meal delivery Responsible for meal accuracy and diet appropriateness while delivering patient trays Ensure all patients needs are catered during shift in between meal times Adheres to Facility’s Emergency Preparedness Program, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other mandatory programs in the Facility as appropriate. 3. Organization Maintains organization throughout the shift in the assigned floor Prioritize day appropriately according to assigned floor 4. Teamwork Assists other team members when necessary. Asks for help when necessary. Assists management in anyway conducive to the efficient operation of the food service department 5. Communication Effectively communicates product and equipment issues to management in a timely manner. Responsible for knowing schedule and checking out with management before leaving.
Job Specifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Must practice good personal hygiene and be neatly groomed in a company approved uniform.
Education:
Minimum of high school degree or GED. Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment. Capable of prolonged standing and walking continuously, frequent stooping and bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.
