JOB PURPOSE OR MISSION
Performs food service tasks under generalsupervision in a food production area and/or food service area;washes and cleans assigned utensils, area and equipment; receives,stores and disburses foodstuffs, and supplies from assignedstoreroom. Performs duties appropriatelyfor the age populationserved, as defined in the department’s scope of service.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
include, but are not limited to: 1. Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas following proper sanitaryprocedures. Maintains work area in a clean, neat and orderly manner. Sets up and operates dish machine to clean dishes, trays,silverware, glassware, and other utensils. Performs daily cleaning of ranges, kettles, carts, pots, pansand other food service equipment. Performs special cleaning duties as assigned by thesupervisor. Inspects cleaned items to ensure proper sanitation andquality. Sweeps and mops floors according to schedule. Collects, sorts and disposes of trash, cans, bottles andsimilar debris and transports to disposal area as needed. 2. Assists in expediting the flow of work in the kitchen, storeroomand/or food service areas as assigned.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Retrieves, collects and transports a variety of food servicesupplies and equipment from one area to another as directed. As assigned, performs a variety of tasks related to receiving,storing and disbursing various foodstuffs and supplies from thestoreroom. 3. Maintains working area according to established infectioncontrol/safety policies.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Maintains a safe and sanitary work area at all times. Utilizes kitchen equipment appropriately and safely. Observes sanitation procedures before handling utensils or fooditems 4. Performs all other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Previous food service experience preferred.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
HIPAA REQUIREMENTS
Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable HIPAAregulations appropriate to Job Position including but not limitedto: paper medical record with limit to job function.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable safetypractices appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to:incident reporting, handling wastes, sharps and linens, PPE,exposure control plans, hand washing, environmental rounds toensure safety, receives orders for patients, and clinical alarmsfor all age groups.
