Summary:
The Food Service Worker is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the safe preparation, assembly, distribution, and service of food for hospital patients, staff, and visitors. This role supports daily food service operations by maintaining cleanliness, ensuring food safety, and delivering excellent customer service.
Essential Functions:
Attend department meetings, in-services, and training sessions as required.
Anticipate and respond to customer needs in a courteous and timely manner.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and department equipment in accordance with HACCP standards.
Demonstrate a consistently positive and professional attitude.
Notify supervisor of any concerns, product shortages, or discrepancies.
Support department goals related to operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Perform duties in various areas including tray line, cafeteria, and kitchen.
Set up and restock food stations; assemble patient trays and deliver/retrieve trays from patient rooms.
Clean food service stations, equipment, and floors following each meal period.
Operate dish machines, trash compactors, and perform general cleaning duties such as mopping.
Prepare supplemental food items to support tray line and meal service.
Participate in routine and assigned sanitation projects.
Assist with the training and cross-training of new and current staff. Education
