Missouri University of Science and Technology invites applications for the role of Dining Operations Coordinator, a key position supporting daily campus food service operations in close partnership with our contracted dining services vendor. As the Dining Operations Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring efficient dining experiences for our campus community. You will work closely with the vendor’s General Manager to navigate challenges related to staffing, production, and facilities, keeping operations running smoothly and maintaining high-quality service standards. Your efforts will be visible, appreciated, and impactful. This position serves as a key liaison between the university and the vendor, with a focus on student staffing, operational coordination, and upholding a culture of safety, service, and accountability. You will also help ensure budget alignment and serve as a critical operational resource across campus dining services.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational and Financial Oversight Assist in the daily oversight of residential dining, retail locations, catering services, and canteen stores in collaboration with the vendor GM
Support the development and management of operational plans, labor allocation, and annual budgets
Track and reconcile student employee labor costs and monitor key performance indicators using customer feedback and financial reports Human Resources and Training (Student Employee Focus) Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise all student employees working within campus dining
Ensure timekeeping records align with scheduling; assist with payroll and budget compliance
Maintain and monitor student labor budgets in coordination with the campus financial controller Quality Assurance and Vendor Coordination Partner with the vendor to uphold standards in food safety, product quality, sanitation, and service in accordance with HACCP and OSHA guidelines
Support inventory management and facilitate maintenance work orders through the university’s facilities system
Address and investigate service complaints and implement corrective actions as necessary Program Development and Campus Engagement Collaborate with university stakeholders and the vendor on marketing initiatives, campus dining events, and culinary programming
Serve as a communication bridge between the university, dining vendor, and campus community including students, families, faculty, and staff
Ensure open, transparent, and proactive communication to foster positive dining experiences and student satisfaction
Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Preferred Qualifications Experience in a university or higher education dining environment
Familiarity with scheduling tools, payroll systems, and budget tracking
Understanding of facilities operations and work order platforms
Anticipated Hiring Range The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $52,223-$55,000 annually. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck. The University of Missouri provides generous leave, health plans, and retirement contributions that add to your bottom line.
