GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
This position will be responsible for assisting the Income Maintenance Caseworkers by gathering information to determine/redetermine eligibility for the Income Maintenance programs and to assess the needs of the clients while gathering their information. This position will also interview clients, take phone calls, and do minimal eligibility to redetermine eligibility for the FNS program. Position requires approximately 40 hours of work per workweek.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To successfully perform this position, an individual must be able to perform the following: Support Income Maintenance Caseworkers II to allow them to process cases quickly and accurately. Submit applications and re-certifications into NCFAST within three days of receipt. Assist IMC II in obtaining verifications via phone, letter or electronically. Interview and verify information from clients in order to complete determination of eligibility for the FNS program. Make appropriate referrals to clients for governmental or private resources that will be a benefit to them. Provides coverage at the front desk, switchboard, file room and mail room. Creation and maintenance of spreadsheets to assist in the tracking of work and to pull statistics for reports. Maintains file records through scanning information and files into our document management system and physically filing paperwork in the appropriate section of records. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited associate degree program in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associate, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial Science, or a closely related curriculum; or graduation from high school and two years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact experience which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling of data, analysis of data and/or performance of mathematical or legal tasks with at least one year of such experience being in an income maintenance program; or graduation from high school and three years of paraprofessional, clerical or other public contact experience which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, the gathering and compiling of data, the analysis of data and/or the performance of mathematical or legal tasks; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
