This position is a Youth Program Education Assistant I - Dining Coordinator in Meadowview Cottage.
This position is assigned to Meadowview Cottage but will assist all dining programs within Statewide Programs. Duties will include but are not limited to monitoring individuals during snacks/mealtimes to observe self-help skills, monitor staff to ensure they are following and adhering to the individuals’ needs ensuring staff are assisting where/when needed. Attend meetings that pertain to the individuals’ needs, management meetings, Person-Centered Plans, interim meetings, and admissions per assigned program. Serve as a liaison between individuals and staff within Statewide Programs and Food and Nutrition Services. Serve as a treatment team member. Purchase items for specific dietary, programming, and activity needs, and special events. Create, update, complete, and modify data records pertaining to dining Child Nutrition/Food nutrition. Inservice/train staff on specific dining procedures. Plan/assist with special events for the individuals and/or individuals and staff. Research/write recipes for individuals. Assure areas and various forms of dining are person-centered. Attend yearly conference for SN/NC to maintain up-to-date and accurate information of federal guidelines and regulations. Compiling a program specific recipe book for individuals. Goal writing for dining specific vocational training. Serve as Adaptive Dining Equipment representative for assigned areas. Review group home orders. Compile a continual quick reference book of data forms for the dining program, etc. Create/post kitchen duty schedule for individuals monthly. Work and oversee dining area along with Food/Nutrition staff assuring that rules and regulations are adhered to. Wellness Committee member. Assist with Farm Day Planning.
Shift:
Monday-Friday; 8:00 a.m
- 5:00 p.m.; two late nights weekly (9:30 a.m
- 6:00 p.
m.)
This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance, paid sick/vacation/holidays, retirement, etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Management Preferences:
Knowledge of basic health care, hygiene, and safety.
Demonstrated ability to carry out and make on-the-spot decisions about behavioral intervention programs especially in crisis situations.
Demonstrated ability to report information both orally and in writing. Must be knowledgeable of the emotional needs of individuals.
Must have demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructional and demonstrate ability to communicate effectively.
Applicants must have the ability to use Murdoch Center Program Library or a similar instructional system.
Physical Requirements:
Employee will be required to complete Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) skills and certification in first aid and CPR.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Associate s degree in human services or related degree from an appropriately accredited institution
or
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary Special Qualifications As required by facility, CPR certification and listing as a Nurse Aide I or Nurse Aide II by the NC Division of Health Service Regulation required prior to providing direct patient care.

- Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus
