Job Description

Food Service Assistant – Host/Hostess 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars Pinehurst, NC Overview The Healthcare Host/Hostess is responsible for effectively communicating with patients, staff and guests of the hospital to ensure accuracy and timelines of patient meal trays and floor stock. Major responsibilities include delivering meal carts to patient units, aiding in the meal set-up at the bedside, discarding soiled trays, taking inventory of the nourishment area, stocking the nourishment area and accurately operating technical equipment. The Healthcare Host/Hostess will be responsible for sanitation activities, including dishware, equipment cleaning and janitorial tasks. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Firsthealth may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ depending on business needs and staffing. Responsibilities Deliver carts to floors and patient areas. Serve trays and assist patients as needed. Take nourishment orders, replenish stock, deliver items, and store/rotate products. Record special food items served. Assemble coffee, tea, and beverages. Interact with customers in serving and dining areas. Assemble and deliver trays. Follow allergy, foodborne illness, HACCP, and company policies/procedures. Report accidents/injuries, attend safety meetings/training, and complete hazard assessments. Participate in training programs. Prepare dinner rolls, polish silverware, and restock supplies. Qualifications High School diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred. Related work experience optional. High work standards, professional appearance, and compliance with dress code. Frequent walking, standing (up to 8 hours), bending, stooping, reaching, pushing/pulling, lifting up to 35 pounds, and occasionally up to 40 pounds.
