The Catering Attendant is responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring guest satisfaction during all dining event, with a focus on catering. Directed by Team Leader and/or Director of Dining Services, to ensure quality service is provided at all times. Assist with table-top set up and break down of catering equipment and stations. Assist with food preparation and plating. Serve food and beverages, including alcoholic beverages, to guests. Monitor and replenish food and beverage stations. Ensure that all work and service areas are clean and sanitized. Understand and always exhibit safe food handling practices and procedures. Attend to special requests and/or dietary restrictions. Work well independently as well as collaboratively to ensure that events run smoothly. Assists in training of new service team members, under the direction of the Team Leader. In a full-time role, will also be able to perform the duties of bunner, cashier, hostess, and/or server. Promotes clean, safe and neat environment for residents, self and staff. Demonstrates knowledge of fire safety procedures, and assists with evacuation of residents to a safe location in the event of fire or other emergency. Maintains confidentiality of residents’ personal and medical record information. Cooperates with staff of other departments in performing job duties. Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age; capable of standing and walking for 4 or 8 hour shift; carrying and balancing a 10 to 15 pound tray; ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds; frequent stooping and bending. Ability to see and hear, or to use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that position requirements can be fully met. Sufficient manual dexterity to operate a fire extinguisher, telephone, iced tea machine, soup well, coffee machine.
