Part-Full Time (25-35 hours per week), primarily nights and weekends. Office hours available as well for the right individual, but not required.

Job Overview:

Donovan’s Dish Catering is seeking a highly organized and motivated Event Manager/Banquet Captain to oversee the execution of events at various locations across the Triangle. This role requires someone with strong leadership and customer service skills to ensure each event runs smoothly, providing exceptional service to our clients. The Event Manager/Banquet Captain will manage event logistics, coordinate staff, and ensure flawless execution of food and beverage service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Event Coordination:

    Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients, ensuring all event details are executed according to plan.

  • Staff Management:

    Supervise and direct event staff, including servers, bartenders, and support staff, ensuring they adhere to service standards and event timelines.

  • Setup and Breakdown:

    Oversee the setup and breakdown of events, ensuring all materials, equipment, and décor are arranged properly.

  • Client Relations:

    Provide excellent customer service to clients, addressing any issues or requests promptly and professionally.

  • Food and Beverage Service:

    Ensure that food is served efficiently and professionally, while maintaining the highest standards of presentation.

  • Problem Solving:

    Handle any issues that may arise during the event, making quick decisions to keep things running smoothly.

Post-Event Reporting:

Provide feedback to the event planning team on the success of the event and suggest areas for improvement.

Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in event management, catering, or hospitality.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and occasionally holidays.
  • Reliable transportation to various event locations across the Triangle.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and be on your feet for extended periods.
