Job Summary:

The Winnisquam Regional School District is looking for a motivated and organized Assistant Cafeteria Manager to help oversee the daily operations of the cafeteria. This role supports and works under the direction of the Cafeteria Manager in ensuring food safety and quality standards, maintaining inventory, and delivering efficient meal service to students and faculty. The ideal candidate has leadership experience in food service, strong communication skills, and a commitment to creating a positive and safe dining environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and coordinating daily food service operations
• Support training of new employees
• Ensure compliance with local health department regulations and district food safety standards
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering supplies and ingredients
• Support meal preparation and service during peak times
• Handle cash reconciliation and assist with financial record-keeping
• Address student and staff concerns in a courteous and timely manner
• Step in for the Cafeteria Manager in their absence

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or culinary/food service training preferred
• 2+ years of experience in food service, with some supervisory experience
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
• Knowledge of USDA child nutrition guidelines and HACCP procedures is a plus
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lift up to 40 pounds
• Must pass a background check and obtain necessary food safety certifications
