AVI Foodsystems is looking for an energetic and optimisticleader to fill the role of Assistant Patient Food Service Director,Full-time at one of our healthcare accounts in Staten Island, NY.This position includes weekends as needed and some holidays. Plan, organizeand direct the work of team members engaged in the storage,preparation and serving of food for the hospital’s patients Promoteand ensure the highest levels of quality and service to patients,visitors and teams within the facility Review and evaluate existingoperational methods and procedures of food and nutrition servicesprogram for effectiveness and efficiency, initiating changes asnecessary to ensure compliance with Federal, State and County laws,rules and regulations and the rules and procedures of hospitalaccrediting bodies Ensure proper food and physical safety andsanitation Develop and implement cost effective systems throughoutthe department Maintain and foster positive and professionalworking relationships within the account Oversee the food safetyand nutritional care aspects of the food and nutrition servicesdepartment to ensure full compliance with Federal, State and otherregulatory agencies Participate in the development of and adherenceto policies and procedures that direct clinical services, foodpreparation, distribution and service, purchasing, sanitation,safety practices, performance improvement and team member educationand development Other duties and responsibilities as necessary
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years progressive management experiencein an acute care hospital food service setting Minimum educationincludes a High School Diploma with ability to read, write, speakand comprehend in order to communicate with fellow team members,clients and patients; College degree is a plus Required to give andfollow written and verbal instructions Basic understanding of dietprinciples and extensive understanding food preparation and cookingmethods Previous experience with computerized diet office systemsis a plus Ability to comprehend and guide others in understandingguest service principles as they relate to food production and theflow of the foodservice operation Possess the ability to superviseand train team members, to include organizing, prioritizing andscheduling work assignments
