Job Summary:
Connell Foundation Food Group LLC is seeking an experienced, proactive, and hands-on Banquet Event Captain to build and lead our banquet team in delivering exceptional event experiences. This role is responsible for overseeing the setup, execution, and breakdown of events while working directly alongside staff to ensure smooth operations, high-quality service, and complete guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Setup & Breakdown Produce event equipment checklist & review with culinary team to ensure all items are accounted for & presented to provide the highest quality Maintain and assist in producing an event service guide. Coordinate with Event Steward to review the setup & breakdown of event spaces, delivery of drop off catering, Work with and coordinate with event steward for setting up events including tables, chairs, decorations, & equipment including packaging & transporting as necessary Maintain equipment inventory throughout The Park & ensure storage is clean & organized Review Event Order Forms, Grounds Services Requests, & Loading Dock Forms to understand any operational logistics & coordinate with vendors for load-in/load-out as needed Build a on call roster of qualified part time banquet servers Schedule, supervise, train, and motivate banquet servers and support staff during events. Actively participate in event setup, service, and breakdown—leading by example. Execute event orders (BEOs) precisely, ensuring all client specifications and timelines are met. Coordinate with culinary staff, bartenders, and management to ensure seamless service flow. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional event space before, during, and after events. Address guest requests and concerns promptly, professionally, and effectively. Monitor service quality and team performance throughout the event. Communicate changes and updates clearly to staff and management during events. Enforce compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards. Assist with inventory, linen, and equipment control related to banquet operations. Contribute feedback to improve event processes and guest satisfaction. Planning & Coordination ParkLife Events & Social Experiences Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) weekly with internal team to understand event and/or catering requirements for in-house events Ensure event execution & service is in accordance with the event plan & brand identity of The Park Private Events & Off-Premises Events Review BEOs weekly with an internal team to understand event and/or catering requirements & ensure smooth execution & service is in accordance with the event plan Catering & Events Captain to confirm all setup & service details prior to events Responsible for coordinating staffing based on event flowthrough & updating staffing requirements as needed to maintain the highest quality of service Managing inventory required for off-premises events including paper goods, dinnerware, flatware, etc. Occasionally attend client meetings to review finalized event details, as needed Corporate Catering Confirm orders with the culinary team, including any special requests, dietary restrictions, etc. for upcoming orders Ensure paper goods & packaging are organized, labeled, & prepared for all orders Act as the liaison between the culinary team & event steward Ensure all catering drops are confirmed & are accounted for regarding transport, delivery, logistics, etc. Available to perform catering deliveries as needed Pantry Services Reviewing finalized contracts & details regarding corporate pantry services for Park tenants Attend site visits to confirm office setup logistics & coordinate any required setup for pantry services including display equipment, outlet locations, refrigerator dimensions, etc. Oversee & manage order inventory & ensuring replenishment values are available as needed
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in banquet or hospitality service, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role. Strong leadership and communication skills. Exceptional customer service skills and attention to detail. Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to be physically active, including standing, walking, lifting, and moving furniture/equipment. Flexible schedule, including availability on nights, weekends, and holidays. Knowledge of banquet event setups, table service styles, and beverage handling preferred. Food Handler and/or TIPS certification (or willingness to obtain).
Working Conditions:
Physically demanding position requires frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Work may involve extended hours depending on event scheduling. Indoor and outdoor event settings.
