Full-Time/Year-Round Job Summary (Essential Functions): Ensures prompt and polite service to our members and guests. Serves as the liaison between the kitchen and servers. Facilitates the transportation of food items from the kitchen to the dining room floor.

Must be able to work a flexible shift that includes early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and extended shifts if needed. Expected to work 40-60 hours per week throughout the year and additional hours during event weeks. All other duties as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Ensures all service stations in the kitchen are stocked and ready for service. Maintains cleanliness of service stations in kitchen while ensuring that the kitchen is free from clutter and that the kitchen floor is a clean and safe work area. Ensures that bread, soup and other food products are available. Ensures that each food item has the appropriate side dishes and sauces. Wipes up spills or drips on the rims of dishes and ensures the consistency of plate presentation. Ensures plated hot food leaves the kitchen quickly. Hand carries food to tables using the correct seat positions on the ticket and verbalizes the dish to the member while serving. Ensures that all items in “to go” orders are correctly assembled and labels them by stapling the ticket to the bag. Assists servers and server assistants throughout the course of service as needed. Assists server assistants in the dining room with clearing soiled dishes, filling waters and setting the dining room. Breaks down and cleans service stations in the kitchen at the end of the shift. Reports complaints to manager on duty when received. Responsible for storing equipment and materials properly and in the correct areas. Ensures that all storerooms and equipment storage areas are orderly and clean. Inspects equipment for defects, cleanliness or any maintenance that needs to be completed and reports to supervisor. Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards. Carries out bylaws and policies set by the Board of Directors. Any, and all other duties, as assigned by the 1901 Sommelier and 1901 Restaurant Manager. Experience Previous food & beverage experience preferred. Education High school or equivalent education required. Licenses and Special Requirements Valid driver’s license. Food safety certification. Alcoholic beverage certification. Physical Demands and Work Environment Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Able to meet and perform the physical requirements of the job and to work effectively in an environment that is typical of this position. Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling. Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Must be 18 years of age. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Must have a reliable form of transportation to and from work.

General Information Scheduled Shifts:

Full-time, year-round position. Days and hours are based on club operations and weather conditions. Regularly works 45+ hours per week.
