Food Pantry Assistant Position Available In Otsego, New York

St. Mary’s Food Pantry is looking for a part-time Food Pantry Assistant 20-25 hours a week. You will be working alongside the Food Pantry Coordinator and volunteers. This is a physical job and applicants must be able to lift 30-40lbs, pick up & unload deliveries, you must have excellent computer skills, have good communication skills and a clean driver’s license for driving a cube truck. We are seeking a compassionate and organized Food Pantry Assistant to support the daily operations of our community food pantry. The Food Pantry Assistant helps ensure that individuals and families in need have access to nutritious food in a respectful, welcoming environment. Responsibilities include receiving, sorting, and shelving food donations, assisting clients with food selections, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring cleanliness and safety in the pantry. The assistant may also help coordinate volunteer efforts and assist with outreach programs or food drives. Strong interpersonal skills, sensitivity to diverse populations, and the ability to lift and carry boxes are essential. Previous experience in customer service, food service, or nonprofit work is a plus.
