Shift:
12am/midnight-8am Wise Snacks is seeking a Wastewater Utility Worker. You will be responsible for monitoring and operating several systems that remove solids, starch recovery and oil/water separation before the water is released from the facility.
Areas of Responsibility:
Operate filter press unit for solids separation. The operator will pump, condition wastewater and empty the separated solids. Lifting of materials up to 50 pounds, using ferric chloride, lime for conditioning. Light maintenance to include cleaning and changing separation cloths is also required . Operate starch removal system. The operator will operate, clean and monitor the starch removal system. Cleaning of the system will include the use of chlorinizers and acids. Operate Water/Oil Separation system. The operator will operate monitor and clean the separation system. This will include cleaning screens, baskets and tanks.
Job Requirements:
Physical Lifting objects up to 50 pounds unassisted. Monitoring and recording readings and data. Performing job functions with limited direct supervision. Safety Use of all personal protective equipment (PPE) to include face shield, glasses and gloves is required when working with any materials known to be hazardous or irritants Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Requirements Understand and comply with all GMP and Food Safety Requirements when entering and performing any tasks within the plant areas
Education & Experience Requirements:
High School or GED.
Valid Drivers’ License Preferred:
Trade School Experience Physical Demands:
Ability to stand and move for long periods of time Ability to lift items weighing in excess of 50 lbs. frequently Ability to work in hot and cold environments Ability to work with chemicals Mobility and movements – frequent ability to bend, twist, kneel, squat, climb, reach outwards and upwards, grasp and twist wrists
