Banquet Set Up/Houseman (Part Time) Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes
Myrtle Beach, SC We are searching for a Banquet Set Up/Houseman to join our brilliant team of hospitality professionals.
The Banquet Houseman is responsible for preparing venues for food service events, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and organization. This role requires a keen attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in banquet service or related hospitality roles, with a focus on maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
Responsibilities
Set up tables, chairs, and other equipment according to event specifications. Arrange tables and chairs in desired layouts (e.g., banquet style, round tables, etc.)
Set up and arrange decorations as specified.
Ensure the venue is clean and tidy before, during, and after events. Empty trash, linens, etc.
Properly handle and store tables, chairs, and other equipment.
Clean and sanitize tables and chairs.
Maintain a clean and organized storage area for equipment and supplies.
Know how to assemble and disassemble equipment.
Ensure all equipment is in good working order.
Set up and maintain water stations in meeting spaces.
Work closely with banquet captains and other staff to ensure smooth event operations.
Follow instructions from event planners and management.
Communicate any problems or concerns to management.
May be required to assist with other tasks as needed
May be required to assist with the breakdown of events after they are over.
Adhere to health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and sanitized workspace.
Requirements
Prior experience in banquet service, catering, or hospitality settings preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage time effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards.
Physical stamina to lift and move heavy equipment or furniture as needed.
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
