Roch’s Fresh Foods has been part of the Rhode Island community since the 1930s. It began as a family business – bringing the freshest fruits and vegetables to retail and food service customers all over southern New England. Today we operate a state-of-the-art HACCP-certified distribution warehouse in West Greenwich, Rhode Island, and Roch’s Fresh Foods Specialty Market in Narragansett and West Greenwich. Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Meat Cutter to join our team here at our Narragansett store. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and a passion for delivering high-quality products to our customers. As a Meat Cutter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our meat products are prepared, packaged, and presented to meet the highest standards of quality and safety. Duties Cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat according to specifications. Ensure all meat products are handled in compliance with food safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cutting area and equipment. Package meat products for display and sale, ensuring proper labeling and freshness. Assist customers with their selections, providing exceptional customer service. Collaborate with kitchen staff to fulfill orders efficiently. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Qualifications Previous experience in food production or the food industry preferred. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Proficient in food preparation techniques, particularly with knives and cutting tools. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality control. Flexibility to work various shifts as needed. Must be able to stand for long periods of time Ability to lift and move 25-50 pounds Be collaborative, using a team approach to creating an equitable workplace environment and having respectful working relationships Maintain a Premier Level of Customer Service •Ensure that all Disposed of Product/Shrink is Properly Logged & Accounted For •Excellent Verbal & Written Communication Skills.
