General Manager – Golf Cart Dealership Jeffrey Allen Inc Davie, FL 33314 GENERAL MANAGER Jeffrey Allen Inc is a family-owned and -operated Club Car golf cart & utility vehicle dealership, with over 50 years in business, and 3 stores in Florida. We are seeking an experienced manager to lead our Davie store. The ideal candidate will have experience in management within the golf cart or powersports industry, or in commercial equipment distribution generally. Job Description:
The General Manager is responsible for assuring that all store employees contribute to the store’s and company’s goals and objectives, and deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers every day. The GM is also responsible for identifying and correcting operational/procedural issues as well as personnel issues through observation, training, and mentoring on an ongoing basis. The General Manager is ultimately responsible for the customer experience, financial performance, and long-term growth of the store as a whole, and its individual departments: Unit Sales, Service, Parts, Rental, and Transportation.
Responsibilities:
Deliver exceptional customer service to customers and ensure their satisfaction through cultivating a well-trained, effective staff while following established Company policy and procedures. Recruit, interview, hire and train staff when necessary. Manage employee time off requests, schedules, and time cards in accordance with Company policy, and hold annual performance reviews with staff. Achieve Company financial goals for the store such as meeting sales forecast, achieving acceptable gross profit and net profit in each department, and controlling expenses. Ensure everyone in the store follows established Company processes, policies and procedures. Correct, train, educate, and discipline staff when needed to ensure all processes and procedures are followed correctly. Deliver Quarterly Sales, Service, and Profits performance. Analyze monthly profit and loss statements to identify areas of opportunity and improvement. Develop and execute plans to improve performance and profitability where needed. Establish short-term and long-term goals and objectives for individual employees and/or departments within the store and ensure their execution according to the plan provided by Executive Management. Hold departments and/or individuals accountable for their performance and/or improvement. Collaborate and cooperate with other General Managers in the Company to support the goals and objective of other stores and to cooperatively solve problems that affect either one store or the entire Company. Complete regular audits of inventory data, sales data, and financial data to ensure Company record-keeping processes are being followed by all staff. Complete month-end financial reconciliation and month-end reports for Accounting department, Vice Presidents and President. Participate in quarterly and annual store and Company planning meetings with Executive Team. Identify areas of opportunity and improvement within store and successfully implement plans to achieve these goals. Communicate with vendors and customers on a daily basis, and represent the Company in a professional and positive way at all times. Learn the responsibilities and procedures for all positions within the store. Fill in for key store personnel during their vacations and time off.
Requirements:
Must have minimum 3 years of work experience in a management/supervisor role. Experience within golf car, powersports, ag or turf dealerships – or in other commercial equipment distribution companies – is preferred. Must demonstrate effective leadership skills. Must have ability to work with and manage staff of all ages, backgrounds, and personality types in a calm and effective manner. Must have ability to manage conflicts between employees and departments. Must demonstrate exceptional decision-making skills and judgment. Must be self-driven to achieve growth and success both for you and for your team. Must have exceptional organization skills and communication skills. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and accomplish these along with daily store management responsibilities. Must be able to adhere strictly to Company policies and procedures and hold your team accountable for the same. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook. Must be adaptable to new technologies and software programs. Must pass a criminal background check, drug test, and motor vehicle insurability check. Must be willing to work an average of 50 hours per week, especially during busy season. The general manager should be the first person to arrive and the last person to leave the store every day. Occasional after-hours conference calls or meetings may be required. Occasional weekend events or tradeshow attendance may be required. Occasional travel for work may be required.
Education/Experience:
Must have 3 years of work experience in a management/supervisor role. Experience within golf car, powersports, ag or turf dealerships – or in commercial distribution companies – is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits:
Total annual compensation package of $75,000 to $100,000 depending on experience. (Total package includes base salary plus performance-based incentive potential.)
