Banquet Chef The Grand Oak Villa / DiStasi Catered Events 550 Sylvan Lake Road, Oakville, CT 06779 We are seeking an experienced and skilled Banquet Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for great food and the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. You will be responsible for preparing and serving a wide range of dishes to guests at events and functions. We host weddings, fundraisers, anniversaries, brunches and holiday events throughout the year. Must be able to adapt to different menus and preparation while providing the best quality product for our clients and guest. Hours and days vary to season and events. Must be a people person and work well with others. Focus on quality and presentation of Cold displays, Hors d oeuvre, antipasto, entrees, sauces etc. Be wiling to assist others in production and create a positive working team. Banquet and Catering experience a must. Weekends and some holidays required

Duties:

Plan, oversee and assist in day-to-day culinary operations of the banquet kitchen as it pertains to banquets. Oversee service during events and banquets, and ensure food quality and consistency Maintain an organized and clean kitchen, and delegate tasks to keep it running efficiently Inventory management: Ensure that ingredients are ordered, received, and maintained Assigns (in detail) preparation and specific duties lists to auxiliary banquet kitchen staff for efficient execution of upcoming events. Supervise, aid, and inspect daily cleaning procedures of kitchen, walk-in and freezers. Aid in the training and supervising the kitchen staff. Evaluate perform and give guidance as necessary. Maintain effective communications with kitchen concerning food production. Maintain consistent communication with banquet cooks: function times, preparations, breaks and necessary progress in production. Communicate directly and often with the Banquet Managers and Event Coordinators. Facilitate the professionalism of our banquet team by adhering to proper language, uniforms, hygiene, and employee relations. Leads the Banquet Kitchen Team in food preparation and presentation during all events. Qualifications
