About This Job:

The Full-Time Chef is responsible for the preparation and service of nutritious lunch and dinner meals for campus staff, students, and visitors. The incumbent must ensure that all kitchen operations comply with applicable health, safety, and hygiene standards. Working collaboratively with other kitchen staff, the Chef will oversee the preparation, serving, and cleanup of meals, with full responsibility for providing quality dinner service to residential clients and staff. Prepare and serve lunch, salad bar, and dinner meals
Cook and present meals for residential clients and staff
Prepare meals for school students and staff as needed
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment and facilities
Accept and process incoming deliveries
Assist with catering, special functions, and organizational events
Ensure ethical behavior and uphold organizational standards and values
Anticipate and respond to the needs of internal and external clients to exceed expectations within program parameters
Communicate effectively and respectfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, demonstrating professionalism and integrity
Foster teamwork by collaborating with colleagues to set goals, solve problems, and improve overall program effectiveness
Maintain consistent and reliable attendance
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent – Required
Previous food service/ relevant experience – Required
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with youth, clients, and coworkers
Demonstrated personal effectiveness and credibility
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
ServSafe Food Handler certification (preferred; will facilitate online coursework and assessment if needed)

Shift and Rate of Pay:

Full-time 40 hours per week
Monday-Friday 10:00am-6:00pm
$21.00 per hour
