The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, particularly in sushi preparation, and will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant’s standards. This role requires a keen eye for detail, creativity, and a commitment to food safety and hygiene. Duties Prepare a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, using fresh ingredients and traditional techniques. Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and handling regulations to maintain high standards of hygiene. Collaborate with kitchen staff to plan menus and ensure timely meal preparation during service hours. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Stay updated on current trends in sushi preparation and presentation to enhance menu offerings. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi techniques and food safety practices. Experience Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the culinary industry. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, particularly in the preparation of sushi and other Japanese dishes. Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools, including knives specific to sushi preparation. Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
