The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, particularly in sushi preparation, and will be dedicated to providing high-quality dishes that delight our customers. As a Sushi Chef, you will play a vital role in menu planning and meal preparation, ensuring that every dish meets our standards for taste and presentation. Responsibilities Prepare a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, using fresh ingredients. Ensure all food safety protocols are followed to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment. Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Maintain inventory of sushi ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure freshness. Utilize proper knife skills for precise cutting and presentation of sushi items. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques and food handling practices. Monitor food quality throughout the cooking process to ensure consistency and excellence in every dish. Adhere to all health regulations regarding food preparation and storage. Skills Strong knowledge of food safety standards and practices. Proficient in meal preparation techniques with an emphasis on sushi-making. Excellent knife skills for precise cutting of fish and vegetables. Experience in menu planning that incorporates diverse flavors and dietary needs. Background as a dietary aide or in food service is preferred but not required. Ability to handle food safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
