Job SummaryAreyou a visionary Executive Chef with high-volume production andR D experience? Chartwells K-12 seeks an innovative culinaryleader to oversee the recipe development and culinary execution of100,000+ meals served daily across 150 Duval Public Schools andproduced in part within the state-of-the-art 70,000 sq. ft.
Nutrition Service Center and in school cafeterias.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead a team of 2-3 Sous Chefs & 6-7 Food Truck associates in aunionized hourly workforce
- Oversee inventory, invoicing, foodsafety, and QA protocols for large-scale food transportation
- Develop innovative and NSLP compliant menus in partnership with theNutrition Manager
- Lead catering, special events, and food truckoperations
- Provide culinary support and training to schoolcafeteria associates
- Engage in student-driven initiatives, focusgroups, and other marketing and engagement culinary projects
WhatWe’re Looking For:
? R D expertise with experience inlarge-scale food manufacturing? Strong leadership & organizationalskills to drive operational excellence? High-level cateringexperience with a passion for culinary creativity
PreferredQualifications:
A.S. or equivalent experience Minimum of three to five years of progressive culinary/kitchenmanagement experience, depending upon formal degree ortraining Extensive catering experience a plus High volume, complex foodservice operations experience – highlydesirable Institutional and batch cooking experiences Hands-on chef experience a must Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with afocus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, andpresentation Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office(Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, E-mail, and the Internet ServSafe certified – highly desirable Certified Executive Chef (CEC) or Certified Dietary Manager(CDM) certifications are highly desirableApply to ChartwellsSchools today!
