We are a high-end, non-corporate kosher Japanese restaurant located in the heart of Surfside, Florida. Our establishment is dedicated to excellence in culinary artistry, respectful teamwork, and a healthy, professional work environment. We blend traditional Japanese techniques with modern culinary innovation, all while upholding the highest kosher standards.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a creative, disciplined, and detail-oriented Pastry Chef to lead our dessert program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pastry arts, a passion for flavor and presentation, and an appreciation for kosher dietary laws (experience with kosher not required—we are happy to train the right person). You will work closely with our Executive Chef and FOH team to craft desserts that complement our elevated Japanese menu.

Responsibilities:

Design and execute a high-quality dessert menu that aligns with the restaurant’s concept Ensure all pastries and desserts meet kosher standards and restaurant quality expectations Oversee prep, plating, and consistency of all dessert items Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control for the pastry department Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace Work collaboratively with the kitchen team and communicate effectively Train and supervise any pastry assistants or kitchen staff as needed

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role Formal training in pastry or culinary arts preferred Strong understanding of flavor pairing, plating, and dessert presentation Knowledge of kosher practices is a plus but not required Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor Able to work evenings and weekends as needed
