As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant’s standards for taste and presentation. Your expertise in food safety and kitchen operations will ensure that we maintain the highest quality in our food service. Duties Prepare and present sushi dishes according to the restaurant’s menu and specifications. Utilize knife skills to create precise cuts of fish, vegetables, and other ingredients. Ensure all food preparation meets food safety standards and regulations. Collaborate with the culinary team to plan menus that highlight seasonal ingredients and innovative sushi options. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to all health and safety guidelines. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and best practices. Requirements Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a fine dining establishment. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques. Excellent knife skills with attention to detail in food preparation. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Familiarity with menu planning and dietary department considerations is a plus. Passion for culinary arts, particularly Japanese cuisine, with creativity in dish presentation. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
