This role requires a commitment to excellence in food presentation and flavor, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Duties Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, ensuring high quality and consistency. Select and source fresh ingredients while adhering to food safety and handling standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during peak hours. Stay updated on current sushi trends and techniques to enhance menu offerings. Assist in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for new dishes. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques. Experience Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or fine dining setting. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and food handling practices. Familiarity with various types of fish, seafood, and traditional Japanese ingredients is essential. Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment with the ability to multitask effectively. Excellent attention to detail with a passion for creating visually appealing dishes.
