Sushi Chef Shakai Sushi Lounge – Orlando, FL 43 E Pine Street, Orlando, FL 32801 Overview We are seeking a talented and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant’s standards for taste and presentation. You will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, collaborating with other chefs and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences to our guests. Your expertise in culinary techniques and food handling will be essential in maintaining the quality and safety of our food offerings. Responsibilities Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation. Select and source high-quality ingredients, including fresh fish and vegetables, while adhering to food safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area, following health and safety guidelines. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders during peak service times. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs for ordering supplies. Stay updated on sushi trends and techniques to continuously improve menu offerings. Assist in training new kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food handling best practices. Qualifications Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a fine dining or high-volume restaurant setting. Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation, handling, and service. Knowledge of various sushi styles, techniques, and presentation methods. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff. A passion for creating delicious meals that meet high standards of quality. Culinary degree or certification is preferred but not required; relevant experience will be considered.
