The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and handling, with a particular focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant’s standards for taste and presentation. Your expertise in the kitchen will contribute to an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Duties Prepare and assemble sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and creativity. Ensure all food handling and preparation practices comply with food safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of ingredients. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Stay updated on culinary trends related to sushi and Japanese cuisine to enhance menu offerings. Provide guidance and support to junior kitchen staff in food preparation techniques. Qualifications Proven experience in food service, particularly in sushi preparation or a similar role within the culinary industry. Strong knowledge of food handling practices and food safety standards. Proficiency with kitchen tools, including knives, and equipment used in sushi preparation. Excellent meal preparation skills with attention to detail in presentation. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. A passion for culinary arts, particularly within the realm of Japanese cuisine.
