Sushi Chef The Eye Restaurant Coorporate 8255 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819 Overview We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, particularly in sushi preparation, and will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that delight our customers. This role requires a keen eye for detail, creativity in menu planning, and a commitment to food safety and hygiene standards. Responsibilities Prepare a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, ensuring the highest quality and presentation. Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan and develop innovative menu items that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, adhering to food safety regulations at all times. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs for ordering to ensure freshness and availability. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food handling best practices. Assist in catering events as needed, providing exceptional service and culinary expertise. Stay updated on industry trends and continuously improve skills through ongoing education and practice. Requirements Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant setting. Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques. Excellent culinary skills with an emphasis on sushi preparation and presentation. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high standards of quality. Experience with menu planning and catering is preferred but not required. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team. A passion for culinary arts with a focus on Japanese cuisine is essential.
