Full Job Description Description:
As the Lead Chef at Indian Rocks Eats, you will play a vital role in advancing the mission of Indian Rocks Church through food ministry. This position is ideal for a servant-hearted leader with culinary excellence, a passion for people, and a deep desire to see lives impacted through hospitality. From preparing daily lunches for students to catering special events and mentoring kitchen staff, your leadership will help foster community, nourish the body and soul, and reflect Christ through every dish served. This is a full-time position. Must give testimony and evidence of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and sense the call of God to a serving ministry. Support and assist the Executive Chef in overseeing all food programs, maintaining high standards of quality, taste, and safety.
Campus Lunch Program:
Lead preparation and service of daily lunch for over 1500 students and staff, Monday-Friday. Fueling for
Excellence:
Help plan and prepare nutritious, performance-enhancing meals for student athletes, including macronutrient-balanced breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and recovery snacks.
Private Chef & Catering:
Collaborate on in-house and off-site catering—menu planning, cooking, setup, and execution with excellence and flexibility.
Community Family Dinners:
Lead weekly dinners with a focus on family-style hospitality, culinary presentation, and Christ-centered service.
Team Leadership:
Cultivate a positive, Christ-honoring kitchen culture through mentorship, teamwork, and adherence to food safety and allergen protocols. Communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, administrators, and guests to ensure smooth operations. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and order in all food prep and service areas in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
3-5 years of culinary leadership experience with strong organizational and communication skills. Proficiency with Google Docs, Google Sheets, and basic unit measure conversions for accurate recipe scaling and menu prep. Humble, teachable spirit with a desire to grow professionally and spiritually in a team environment. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting while remaining calm, focused, and joyful. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Demonstrate a consistent Christian lifestyle as referenced by the Mission Statement, Statement of Faith of Indian Rocks, and Leadership Guidelines of Indian Rocks church Must be an active member of Indian Rocks as defined by Regular attendance in worship services, involvement in an Indian Rocks Connection Group or Small Group, and Commitment to systematic stewardship and faithful tithing.
